“I did it! Thank you, GOD!” This was how I expressed my happiness after getting a job in the BPO Industry. It was year 2014 when I found myself working in a booming industry. Tough life urged me to work and I want to share some of it. I’m just a very plain person. I simply want to be contented, accomplish my dreams and want to have at least a middle-class lifestyle. But behind this simple individual is a very complicated life. Why? Because my mother is a Church Pastor and I am gay.

To cut the long story short, as much as I want to, I had to leave our house not because I disagree with my mother’s views and beliefs, but because I don’t want people judge her because of me. Very sad but true. So then, I decided to leave our home and find my own journey where I found BPO as my shelter and workplace.  After 6 months, I became a regular employee, got promoted and earned more than expected. I was able to adapt the natural world of call center agents; 2½-hour commute from home to office each day, 8-9 hour shifts, unlimited coffees, night-parties and these goes the same for 6 long years. 7 months ago from today, I woke up feeling lost and empty, and then I told myself “I’m not genuinely happy.” Like a lightning strike, I decided to leave the company properly and find my way home. With the grace of GOD, I found my life-time partner who believes and supports me in every single way.

Life is just much easier when working from home. I can have more opportunities for growth. I can be more productive as I don’t need to commute every day. I can even save more for my family and most of all; I can work in a place knowing that I am surrounded by people who will help me not only emotionally, financially but also spiritually.

I strongly want to be successful in freelancing so I started joining Freelancing Groups on Facebook to get some ideas about it, research its nature and invested everything I saved from working in the BPO for things I needed to start-up my career like computer,

internet connection, headset and etc. I also underwent online training for Social Media Marketing, Blogging, SEO and Content Writing and more.

I am a newbie in the Freelancing Industry trying my best to get as much skills and knowledge to get my first ever client and I thank all Freelancing Organization for the very helpful and informative learning platform that helped people like me who have zero-knowledge about this industry.

Now, I am equipped and ready to start my journey as a Social Media Manager.

Remember: “Successful men and women keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.”

God Bless and I wish you all the best.
